Use a floor jack with a piece of scrap lumber to support the whole OIL PAN and lift the engine enough to remove the weight off of the defective motor mount, then replace the bad motor mount one at a time.
Note: There is 3 of these motor mounts and it might make it easier if you remove the bolt for the center mount so the engine will lift & lower easier to do the replacement.
Just put the jack under the engine with a board in between the oil pan and jack, raise up a little unbolt the mount, jack up more, you might have to loosen other motor mounts but you should be able to squeeze out the mounts with ease or a little prying of a pry bar, its much simpler then most would think, just did it on 2 awd turbo eclipses last week, you can also buy a polly urithane kit and knock out the guts of the mounts and replace with the pollys for pretty cheap. im in iowa if you need help let me know.

I have a 97 Eclipse GS 2.0L DOHC. I'm trying to remove the bolts from the right side motor mount bracket so I can remove the timing belt cover to change it. I've read that you need to lift the engine almost out of the compartment to get the bottom 2 bolts out. I'm hesitant to lift it that high and cause other problems like CV shafts pulling out. Is there a better way, like maybe drilling access holes through the inner fender? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
