Hello, I have a 1998 Suzuki Jimny and have noticed an intermittent A/C related problem. When switched ON the engine stalls and switches off after the a/c has been ON either for a whole say 30min trip or switch ON/Off manually. After leaving the car ignition OFF for say 4-5min the engine starts again as if nothing happened. I concluded that it is an A/C problem because in winter I don't experience this problem. Thanks in advance for your advise!

Crankshaft position sensor problems causing stall/non-start are common in Intrigues 98-02, but the sensor is rarely malfunctioning - usually just a flake of metal attached to the magnetic sensing portion causing the error. Save money - inspect/clean/replace the sensor prior to buying new.

Hi....
In your Intrigue to use the New Passcode sensor .
You need to program the new Passcode to the ECM. of the Vehicle.
This is a prosses that involve around 30 minutes maybe a little more.
Remove the old Ignition switch.
Install the new Ignition switch. with the new Passlock sensor.
Turn the key to on position and try to start a few senconds. them leave the key on run position.
For 10 minutes and NOT more than 11 minutes.
Them turn the key to OFF position for exactly 30 seconds.
Them turn the key to Run position 10 minutes or 11.
them turn back the key to OFF position for 30 seconds.
Them turn the key to Run position 10 minutes or 11,
Turn the key to OFF position and wait 1 minute, them try to start the vehicle.
If the car start you are DONE.
But if Not Letme know to give you more information.
OK I hope this help to try solve your problem.

Sounds like you may either have a bad ignition module or crank position sensor
SOURCE: NTERMITTENT STALLING AND STARTING.
A very common for these problems is a leaking fuel pressure regulator. This leaks gas and causes extended crank times, stalling, and check engine light.

Thanks for replying.
In our Mediterranean climate the engine reaches it's temperature within 2mins especially in summer so i dont think it is a engine warm up issue.
The problem is occurring when the engine has been running for quite sometime, say 30 mins. The A/c itself was never serviced accept for re-flushing it's gas 2years ago. But i do not have any issues with cooling. It must be something related to electrical in relation with the engine perhaps.
