Problems: ac speedometer warning lights 2006 honda civic

My speedometer will read zero no matter how fast im going, cruise control doesnt work, mileage doesnt add up, warning lights for ABS, air bag, check engine and service light all come on, gear indicator light flashes or turns red and stays by the D gear but flashes green by other gears while still red by D, A/C blows but not cold. ive noticed that not often at all turning on headlights, opening sun roof or front windows will "fix" the speedometer and A/C, but rolling down the back windows "fixes' the problem much more often although not always.

Start going overy the wiring harness looking for any rubbing. Sounds like an electrical short.

It sounds like you have a ground issue near the transmission. Make sure the ground strap above the upper radiator hose is booked down good. Also check the plugs on the transmission for a loose connection.

SOURCE: heaters not blowing out any air

most likely the blower resistor is burnt out, this controls the speed of the air blower, low, medium, high. The blower and the resistor are located behind and to the right of the glove box under the dash on the passenger side, u will need various screwdrivers and a few different wreches t fix it yourself.

SOURCE: My 91 Honda Accord's speedometer stop working if,

sounds like a possible bad ground wire, you will need to find out where these 3 items ground and see if they have a ground point in common.

SOURCE: 91 honda accord automatic only goes to 2nd gear when in D4

It could be the computer, or the speed sensor. The speed sensor will control the speedometer, and tells the transmission at what speed to shift.

If it is the Transmission computer module (TCM/TCU) it will be located under the passenger side foot rest. Just pull the carpet back, and remove the steel panel cover using a deep 10mm socket. The TCM is usually the one on the left, but sometimes on the right. It will be the smaller of the 2 coputers. The other, is the Engine computer. When you locate the TCM, you only have to sets of wires that just snap in. Unsnap them, and you can take the cover of the TCM off with just a phillips head screw driver, and look to see if anything looks burnt out one the circuit board. If see something that looks burned, that is your problem, and will need a new one. It took me about 30 mins if that, to locate the TCM, remove it, and replace it.

If it is the Speed Sensor, you can find one online for about $21.00 at eparts.com Best of luck to you, and hope it helps. If you have anymore questions e-mail me at [email protected]

Speedometer, cruise light , ac/heater control doesn't work

Sounds like someone needs to do some more troubleshooting first. Changing the cluster is not a simple matter since your mileage will be different. And the cluster is on a different circuit that the ac so one should not affect the other.

Car speedo & odometer sometimes work OK, other times not at all.

Most likely a speed sensor is going bad (most cars and truck do not use mechanical speedometer cables anymore) most sensors are located near the differential in rwd cars or near the drive shaft on the transmission. Best bet is to get a Haynes manual for your car to help locate the speed sensor. Remove it and take it to the auto parts store so you can visually compare it to the replacement. Install the new speed sensor and it should restore your speedometer and odometer.

To clarify the problem with the 1998 honda civic there are no trouble codes. I just change the exh manifold and catyltic converter it is running and has cut out on me twice since then. This clarification...

is your engine cutting out while driving?? When it happens again notice if 1.Your speedometer goes to zero while in motion?? 2. If Some warning indicators lights aren't lit?? If yes, it's the ignition switch. Ignition switches on Hondas made from 97-02 encounter ignition switch failure. A recall was implimented in 2002. Ignition switch internal contacts severely arch or short causing intermitted power loss to vital engine electrical components. In this case causing the motor to intermittedly shut off while cruising. Call your local Honda dealer with your VIN# at hand for info on this. Possiblly they will replace this, if not they range from $45-$95....Hopefuly this tip helps

Look on the wiring harness it plugs in on top of the transmission
make sure all the wires are together. If every thing is ok with the wiring, The sensor is the only thing it could be. A gook used spedometer sensor from the junk yard will work this sensor dosent take a lot of abuse so a good used one will be cheap and work just fine. This is a job you can do your self and save a lot of money. I had the same problem with my 95 civic
