You have no way to know how much refrigerant is
in the system.
How much would you try & add?

You need to have the system leak tested,if you add any,
it will leak out & polute the atmosphere

Need a shop with the proper knowledge & equipment
to do A/C work

Is there 2005 honda civic software update for po128 error code

I think we all just live in a world of automobiles, that have
too much high tech technology, when not so much is needed,
just to keep exhaust emissions at an acceptable level

At least you kept going back to the dealer & not keep driving
as most people do

You gave the dealer techs several chances at resolving the issues,
all be it, expensive, to say the least.

I don't see anything where you went wrong, or they let you down,
assuming your good to go & no more issues

I assume that the head gasket was something that only moved
& leaked internally under certain conditions & I don't know why or
when the ECU came up as a problem, they don't fail often

How do I recharge the air condition on my 2000 nissan frontier?

If it needs to be charged,it has a leak & is poluting
the atmosphere

Therfore it need to be leak tested, system repaired,
a vacuum pump attached & the system vacuumed
dry,then properly recharged

You have no way to add & know what is in there
or being put in

You need A/C Manifold Gauges just to check the system
operation & charge correctly.

Charging may not be the issue at all

Need it diagnosed by a person train in A/C repair

How to charge a/c system

You don't actually charge it

Your referring to adding to a system ,that
doesn't work & is leaking & poluting the atmosphere

So to add,is to be irresponsible

You need a qualified a/c technician,to find & repair
any leaks
Then it is evacuted with a vacuum pump & checked
again in a vauum for leaks vs: under pressure as in
the beginning

Then the refrigerent is entered under a vacuum
(charged) in oz's with a scale,so you don't overcharge

So you see, without the knowledge & proper equipment,
you can not properly work on any A/C system, roof top,
commercial,window unit,refrigerator,etc.

2001 pontiac bonneville battery don't charge fully. alternator, starter and battery have been tested and they are fine. but battery only recharges to about 65%.

How good are the ends of the battery cables at the battery? Loose connections or acid swelling the cables will do that. Also make sure there is a good ground between the engine and body.

You answered your own question

You going in the right direction, but you don't
have the experience or meter to test anything

So you go to a repair shop & have the battery
tested ,as well as the alternator & current draw

Recharging a/c

You don't recharge

If the system needs refrigerant, you have
a leak that needs to be repaired

The refrigerant is recovered,leak fixed,a
vacuum pulled & system properly charged

If you have no A/C training, you should not
be doing any type of work on any system

Vehicles don't follow the same principals
as commercial a/c

Against federal laws to let refrigerant into
the air & you will, as well as ruin your compressor
& system

Ac leaks had it recharged twice cost lots.

You don't charge an A/C System that leaks

That is against Federal Laws & polutes the Atmosphere

Any repair shop doing so ,should & have been fined
& the fines start at $5,000 or $10,000

You have it evacuated & repaired, then properly
recharged

I can not believe you even requested that it be
charged

People have to started getting involved & educate
themselves on all vehicle issues.

2005 gmc sierra a/c only blows hot air. have checked the coolant levels and there fine.

You need to have the A.C recharged and checked for leaks. The coolant is for the engine heat. Freon charges the A/C unit and is installed through the steel lines with the caps on them. This is recommended by a repair shop and not something that should be done at home.
