These automatic side doors are extremely complicated and require a trained technician to repair wit the factory repair guides to go by, there are many adjustments to be made and sometimes that is all they need plus some cleaning and lubrication of the latch and moving parts. My best advice is let the dealer fix this.

SOURCE: Driver side sliding door on 2006 Dodge Grand

take the door off the car, and hold it up over your head. then you will know how much weight is riding on the sliding bearings and how much work that little door closer motor is doing. the bearings and the motor can only last so long, and i bet through the warranty period is what you can count on. you are going to have to live with it, or replace those components, and with use like all mechanical parts and living beings, it will go bad again. .

SOURCE: 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan side door does not automatically close.

sounds like the door sensor switch is malfunctioning and when almost closed it reacts like it is blocked (such and kid in way) and opens for safety. try flushing trach with hose and try again, if not u need a good repair manual such as chiltons($25 most parts stores ) or see mechanic
