2002 Dodge Intepid engine change now it wont start

Probably gonna have to get it to Chrysler garage and they will flash it,

look at the cars vin# on the door panel. the 99 model it will tell you what month and year the car was made such as 06/1999 if the 1999 model was made from 06/99 not before but 06/99 and above the engines will fit. also check the bolt patterns on the transmissions and starter location on each motor to see if in the same locations. if all match,they will interchange. thank you for choosing fixya.com

Check behind the power steering pump, you will find a plastic housing with the lower rad hose hooked to it as well as the steel tube running to the back of the engine feeding the heater. I think there are 3, 10mm bolts holding this housing on.

safety you have to put more oil in it it dose this so you don't damage the car a lot of old cars also have this

you should have engine light on and engine codes
if its the cam or crank sensors, shouldn't be the starter i would start with the ingition switch.

No the engine does not need to come out. But the whole front suspension and everything on that side will need to come off in order to remove the tranny. It will drop out the bottom also

I need more info. If possible, have the codes read. There are part stores that will read the codes for free. let me know.

scan it .sound like egr valve and oxygen sensors.

thottle, cam or crank position sensor. is the engine light on, if so buy a OBDII code reader
comes with a book that tells you what codes are
costs about the same as taking it to a shop once
for a reading.

it sounds a lot like the Timing is off. I would locate an Authorized Mechanic to set the Timing.
