You will need to remove the door panel in order to
prevent further damage to the electric window motor in
your door. Electric window motors are typically very
expensive so you should be careful not to damage it. You
should be able to easily remove the roller blinds once
the door panel is removed.

SOURCE: Can't figure how to remove right rear door panel on 2001 Pontiac

These are bad about those Cable operated window devices .. If it is bad get on ebay and get one ordered its your best bet.. Just take a flat screwdriver and go around the bottom of the door panel and pop it loose and up the sides .. there might be a hidden screw or two in the middle around the handles.. good luck ..

SOURCE: how remove the rear inside door panel on a 2001 oldmobile aurora

The inner door panel is held in by clips and screw.
Look at the door near the door handle there should be screws holding it in and along the outer edge of the door. Once loose, and the door handle removed or the arm rest removed. The door panel then prys out , because of the clips that hold it on. Then pops out by applying pressure to the panel upward to the top of the door. The clips always break because of the design and plastic.

Good luck

SOURCE: window dropped into rear door panel. How do I remove the panel & repair

the window regulator has failed. the door panel has to be removed first which requires removing the trim piece that is on the grab handle (extremely hard to remove without breaking) there are three of four screws that hold the door panel on. once the door panel is off, the vapor barrier has to be removed. don't tear it, it is there for a reason to keep water out of the vehicle. make sure you reseal it properly with window weld. once the vapor barrier is removed you will need to unclip the window glass from the regulator. i typically will take and break the tab that holds the window. once the window is loose, move the glass all the way to the top of the door. now remove the regulator, swap the motor over, and reassembly. i would recommend taking the vehicle to a bmw dealership, around $650 for the complete repair and the dealership will stand behind their repairs

SOURCE: Right rear window is off the tracks. How do I remove the panel?

if the window is off track the regulator is probably bad. to remove the door panel should be a couple of screws by the inside pull handle and possibly one by the door handle itself also check the bottom of the door for any then just pull it off and lift up to clear latches and remove plastic film to get to inside of the door

HOW TO REPLACE RIGHT REAR DOOR WINDOW ON 98TAURUS

Once you get the door panel off you can easily see how to remove the window which is riveted to the window regulator..Here are instructions for determining the rear door in a Taurus.
    • Pluck the window switch and lock switch from the rear door panel with the trim tool. Pull the wiring plugs out of each switch manually before setting the switches aside.
    • 2Remove the rear door panel retaining screws with either the Phillips screwdriver or socket set, depending on the year, make and model of your vehicle. If the panel will not lift off the rear door at this time, you may need to pry the door panel trim pins out of the door with the trim tool before removing the panel by hand. (This too will depend on the year, make and model of your vehicle.)
    • 3Raise the rear door window glass by hand and secure it with packing tape in the fully upright position to prevent unintended glass movement. Manually pull the wiring plug out of the rear window motor.
    • 4Remove the rear window motor retaining bolts with the socket set. Pull the old rear window motor out of the door through the door access hole. Position the new rear window motor in the door and bolt it in place with the socket set.
    • 5Reinstall the rear door panel on the rear door by reversing the door panel removal steps. Make sure to remove the tape from the window when done before you attempt to open the window.

Rear window shade wont roll back in on my 2006 Toyota Avalon

You guys do of course realize that the original poster is talking about the rear window shade assembly... not the passenger doors. Every single one of your comments is about the wrong part. The rear window shade assembly is a single unit... if the motor is no longer functioning, you will have to replace the entire thing. And they're not cheap either.

Can not get rear passenger door panel off

there should be a screw behind the handle to open the door and a few more behind the wood trim panel. then the panel pops off.be sure not to loose the gaskets that are on the retaining clips.the wood trim pops off too. be careful. the wood is delicate.the shade assy should bolt to the inside of door not interior panel.

I have 2006 750 LI the passenger rear power shade will only go up 1-2 inches and reset?> I have checked for obstructions/ poped top panel back and tried to manually raise/ and put back ib factory clips...

Hi Butler296,

I would recommend double checking the door panel at the top where the shade travels and make sure that the leather material is not coming loose. If it appears to be ok, try reinitializing the rear window by raising it all the way up, and once up holding for approximately 7seconds. Also, there is a built in safety feature that will not allow the sunscreen to automatically raise if the window glass is down.

I have to replace the power window motor on my BMW x5. I cant get the door panel off becasue of the built in window shades. any help?

Hi Racegas, I am assuming you need to take off one of the rear door panels. The 1/4 glass sunshade needs to be removed to gain access to a hidden screw. If you are looking at the sunshade from inside of the car. Lower the window, and look at the op of the shade assembly on the inside. You will see a square looking hole. Using a small pocket screw driver, or equivalent, insert the screwdriver into the hole and pry upwards. Pull the assembly to you at the same time. The clip that holds the assembly in place is pretty stout. You may want to shine a flashlight inside the hole to get a better idea of how far to pry the retaining clip up. Just in case you need to know, there are 2 screws under the trim strip that is adjacent to the release handle and one toward the bottem of the door near the interior pocket.
