Hand brake lamp on instrument panel

Check it by using your hazard lights. If they flash, the relay is OK and you have a woring issue.

It's on top of the brake pedal linkage (arm) . up under the dash . Has orange an lite blue wires to it . Do any of the brake light's work ? High mounted stop lamp's ? Brake lamp fuse - 20 amp ,location left hand instrument panel fuse box . Check for battery voltage on the orange wire before replacing the switch ? Two switches on the brake pedal , the one on the right with two wires is the brake lamp switch . Hope i explained this well enough . would send pic. if I could .

Stop lamp circuit discription

Stop Lamps
The STOP LP 25-amp fuse in the underhood fuse block supplies battery positive voltage to the normally open stop lamp switch. When the driver presses the brake pedal, the switch contacts close and battery positive voltage is supplied to both the STOP 15-amp fuse and the center high mounted stop lamp (CHMSL) 10-amp fuse in the instrument panel (I/P) fuse block, and to the turn signal/hazard module. The turn signal/hazard module then supplies voltage to both of the trailer rear turn/stop lamp supply voltage circuits. The voltage from the CHMSL 10-amp fuse is to the CHMSL and the trailer jumper harness. The voltage from the STOP 15-amp fuse is to the stop lamps, throttle actuator control (TAC) module, and the cruise control.

I think The turn signal/hazard module has something to do with the lights flashing .From looking at a wiring diagram B+ voltage from the STOP LP fuse 25amp in the under hood fuse box supply's the brake light switch , from there it feeds B+ to VEH STOP fuse 15amp and VEH CHMSL fuse 10amp an to stop lamp switch signal to the turn signal flasher module which is suppose to control the trailer stop lights . Do you have a connection for a trailer hook up ?
Remove both LT an RT TRLR fuse's both 10 amp from the I/P fuse block an see if the problem goes away .

Do you tow a trailer ? Check the trailer connector for corrosion !

check first wirring is work properly, and check lamps are work properly. If not then change lamps.If works properly then check connectors, and paddle switches are work properly. If not then change the connector and paddle switches.

I have the same problem few days ago, and still didn't find any solution. Can any one please help?????18

Try the hazard lights to check if all four lights flash, if not then check the bulbs. If the bulbs are ok check the contacts and the connections. if all all these are ok the problem could be the indicator switch. The flasher unit is fitted in the circuit before the indicator switch, that is why it operated although the lights might not.

The fuse panel is located below and to the left of the steering wheel by
the brake pedal. Remove the panel cover to access the fuses.
Roadside Emergencies
To remove the fuse panel cover,
turn the panel fasteners
counterclockwise.
