What size of motor, do you have a/c and which belt are you replacing? Not sure about your engine size since you did not list it so please pick the applicable motor:

Sebring Coupe And Avenger (2.5L VIN N Engine)

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Loosen the tension pulley locknut.
  3. Rotate the adjusting bolt to decrease the belt tension.
  4. Remove the drive belt from the engine.
To install:
  1. Position the replacement belt around the pulleys, making sure the belt routing is correct.
  2. Adjust the belt by rotating the adjusting bolt until the correct tension is reached. Refer to the procedure earlier in this section for belt adjustment.
  3. Once the desired tension is reached, secure the locknut. Recheck the belt tension.
  4. After the belt is installed and adjusted properly, tighten the locknut to 17 ft. lbs. (23 Nm).
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.

SOURCE: wanna replace power steering pump on my 2008 dodge

It's spring activated. Look for a pulley at the end of a lever. That's the tensioner pulley. Put a wrench/socket on it and move it away from the belt. Use caution, as I stated, it's spring loaded/activated. That's how it keeps constant pressure on the serpentine belt. Check under the hood for a routing diagram for re-installation. Or draw a quick sketch.

Hope this helped. I wasn't more precise, as I don't know which engine/options you have in it.

How to change belt

I own a 97 dodge caravan and the belt is quite easy but a little awkward because the belt tensioner is not something you see. All you need to do though is loosen the belt tensioner to the belt and put the belt on. Afterwards, tighten the tensioner until there is only slight slack in the belt.
Note that you have 2 belts and there are 2 tensioners.38e64ac5-9c33-449f-8e09-055a3cba1a7f.jpg

How do i tighten the timing belt tension on a 1999 dodge stratus

The belt tensioner is not adjustable. To loosen a tensioner you would swivel the belt tensioner away from the belt with a long flex wrench or ratchet and to tighten the belt you would let the spring in the tensioner move the swivel back into the tight position. An internal spring tightens the tensioner pulley against the belt. You will need to get a smaller belt or replace the tensioner if the belt is "too loose" after you swivel it back into the tight position against the belt and release pressure.

My dodge ram 2500 cummins is making a rattling noise when its idling

Depends what the rattling is really... If it's the engine , could need a valve adjustment... I've also heard of torque converters make a rattle when going bad, but only when in drive or reverse

How do you put a belt on a 2004 dodge ram diesel pickup

Going to assume it is a 5.9 cummins. Use a 3/8 or 1/2 inch drive ratchet in the hole on the belt tensioner to push or pull the tensioner away from the belt. You'll have to run the new belt around the pulleys and then move the tensioner back enough to get the belt back on and then the tensioner will spring load against the belt holding it on. There should be a diagram of a drawing of how the belt goes or you can draw your own picture of how the belt goes around each respective pulley. Find a library or go on line for belt diagrams. If the belt won't stay on it is time for a new tensioner too.

Where is the pully release on1991 dodge stealth

The 6g72 has 3 belts. the Alternator belt is loosened by a horizontal bolt on the tensional pulley just to the left of the crank pulley. it will move the pulley down and loosen the tension. the power steering belt is loosened by a 14mm bolt on a bracket up and to the left of the crank pulley its a very unique bolt not hard to spot. the Timing belt is loosened by loosening a bolt on the tensioner pulley (it will have 2 small holes on it and will be above and left of crank pulley and right of the hydralic tensioner. contact me at [email protected] if you need pictures.
