Truck usually starts right up with no hesitation, but occasionally the truck behaves as if the battery is completely dead and with no warning - no crank, no click, all interior lights, etc dead. When I twist the negative battery cable a couple inches, it starts right up. I've tried tightening the cable to the negative post on the battery as much as possible - still the intermittent problem. Could this be a bad battery or battery post, bad cable, or something else? It seems to all or nothing with it.
I had the same problem I replaced the battery terminal it worked fine for sometime and it started giving same problem after sometime I cleaned the battery rod and terminal with water mixed with baking soda it works fine. Hope this will help you

I had the same problem the other day. I heard a clicking noise and nothing would happen. I took it to a mechanic who simply cleaned the terminals connecting to the battery and that seemed to have fixed the problem. I then drove it over to AutoZone and they tested the electrical system and everything tested out fine. He said (the AutoZone employee) it looked like the positive terminal had a bad connection as it was hard for his machine to get a reading without him wiggling around the alligator clip. The terminal is a strange one though but I am planning to replace the terminal personally.

There is no way to "tighten" a clutch. If it is slipping, it is time to replace the clutch.
