On a 2002 Buick Century, the trunk unlocks, whenever you lock or unlock the doors using either fob. Both fobs are the originals that came with the car, and worked correctly up until now.
To clarify:
If you press the door lock button on either fob, the doors lock, and the trunk unlocks and releases.
If you press the door unlock button on either fob, the door(s) unlock(s), and the trunk unlocks and releases.
If you the trunk release button, the trunk unlocks and releases, like it's supposed to. The door locks are not activated (as they should not be).
Anyone have any idea what may be causing this?
Sounds like a short circuit - something the dealer would have to fix. This could be annoying. If you can live with it, temporarily unplug the trunk release connector and just use your key for the trunk. This could buy you some time until you can take it to the dealer.Sounds like a short circuit - something the dealer would have to fix.

You may have to replace the remote to regain normal function.

your anti theft device is activated, you need to lock and unlock your doors a couple times with the key fob,not the key,and then you need to put the key in the ignition and start it,if you dont have your key fob, call your car dealer to get a new one, they are programmed for each car only, you cannot bypass it.
the wires in the trunk lid are broken. this model has poorly designed electrical. there is a wire bundle on the right hand side of the trunk lid
open the bundle up and resplice the 4 wires. this will correct the doors and remote trunk opener.
usually these buicks have a fob (keyless) but if you misplaced it try checking the glove compartment it should be a bright color or if u have another key as mine does try to unlock it that way
Sit in the driver's seat
Close all vehicle doors; ignition key should NOT be in the ignition, and ignition should be OFF.
Press and hold UNLOCK on your driver's door lock switch, insert and remove your ignition key TWICE, and insert the key in the ignition; this time LEAVE IT. DO NOT TURN THE KEY!!
LET GO OF THE DOOR SWITCH; listen for 3 dings after which, with the key still in the ignition, you will press and hold both LOCK and UNLOCK AT THE SAME TIME on your transmitter for 12 seconds. or until you hear 2 DINGS which indicate a newly programmed transmitter.
If you wish to use more the one transmitter (4 MAX), press and hold lock and unlock just as the first transmitter.
PULLING OUT THE IGNITION KEY ends this procedure :-) !
