On most cars the security system can be disabled by locking and unlocking the driver's door with the key.

SOURCE: Crank position sensor for 2003 Nissan Altima

a crank position sensor , sends a signal to pcm about crankshaft position signal, the sensor controls spark timing and firing order. the signal is also used for pcm to detect a missfire!! it also sends this info to ignition module, any mechanic can replace a crankshaft sensor!! call a auto parts store and see if you can get one, the cost should be a lot less.

SOURCE: CRANK SHAFT POSITION SENSOR 20002 NISSAN ALTIMA

1st, Nissan had a recall on Crank position sensors for 2002-2006 Altima's. Check with you dealer before you go doing any repairs. You may discover you can get your car repaired at no charge.
NHTSA Campaign ID number :O7V527000
Symptom: Erratic behavior. Stalling and no starts and very difficult to diagnose due to the time frame in which the component actually malfunctions. The warranty should not be limited to the original owner.
I would also need more specifics as to which engine you have so I might assist you in where the location of the sensor is. The Altima had a 4 and a 6 cyl engine offered that year.

Did a 4.2 motor swap 2007 trailblazer put a 2005 motor in it , NO POWER at to the coil . new cam an crk sensor an fuel pressure is excellent , ground connect double checkconnections ..any ideas

You didn't say what size engine, but if you have a coil per cylinder check the under hood fuse block check fuse #29 10 amp and if its good look at relay #60 it's the powertrain relay. To see if it clicks when the switch turns on if yes remove the relay and jumper from #30 to #87 this should power up the coils.

2016 escape titanium won't start. keyless. remote functions but won't start car. how do I reset computer?

Ok disconnect the battery cables like you were instructed in the first answer the when you reconnect them the vehicles alarm will go off when it does use your keyfob to shut of the alarm and it will come out of theft mode and start if you don't do this you will have the same problem no start then when you first put the key in turn it to on but don't crank the motor this gives the self test for the computer to start and you'll see dash lights for check engine and other sensors go out and you will here the fuel pump energize now crank and start give it 10 minutes running to relearn the sensor values then drive the car ok please make sure that there is nothing hanging on the shift lever and you only have 1 chip key in the car with you otherwise it will pick up both chips and will not start good luck stephen

2005 Nissan Altima won't cranks but won't start. Fuel pump works but won't work when in car. What could be the problem??

Is the anti-theft light on ? What happens when you turn the key to the start position ? You have a confusing post here ! won't cranks but won't start.????? if it doesn't crank the fuel pump would have nothing to do with the starter not working . You have a crank no start or no crank no start , which is the problem your having .

My friend replaced the positive terminal cable on her 2005 nissan altima with a positive terminal cable from the factory and now the car won't start at all. There is power to all the fuses and the battery...

Hello.
It is very likely that the terminal is fine. Many vehicle owners are not aware that the newer factory installed anti-theft systems will lock down the car, ( prevent it from starting ), if the battery is disconnected for more than just a couple of minutes. In the future if you need to disconnect the battery, make sure that you dis-arm the anti-theft system first

You should be able to find out how to dis-arm/over-ride the anti-theft system in your owners manual.

I hope this helps you.

My Altima SE R will not run. I replaced the fuel pump, but we are learning that there is no pulsation to the fuel injectors. We checked out the immobilizer and its fine, all the cam sensors are fine, the...

First guess is anti theft.
Leave key on for half an hour and/or lock unlock doors with remote.
Does the tack on the dash show rpm when cranking the engine? If it does you should have a injector pulse using a noid light.
If you have rpm showing and no injector pulse try borrowing a computer from a vehicle like yours.
No RPM showing when cranking?
Check/change crank and cam sensors and possibly computer.
Cam timing can cause no start but you should have an injector pulse even with a jumped tooth or two on the timing chain.
