Battery is fine and starter seems ok. Read somewhere that there is a sensor that may need replaced. What sensor is it, and where on the car is it located? And can I replace it or can only the dealer replace it?

I have found that there is a dead spot in the starter if you hit it once it will start and run for about a week or until it is really cold out, I ended up just replacing the starter today, I'll let you know if it worked
i Have this exact same problem with my 05 ion, i had the starter replaced (not cheep) and it is still not starting in the mornings when i first try it. 20 mins later i'll try it again and it starts right up. I can't keep doing this every morning. could someone please let me know what this is?
I think i found the problem, but not the solution.....same problem, 06 Saturn Ion doesnt start...have new battery, starter & alternator seem to be fine....however the radio doesnt turn off until you turn off the car.....while sitting in the car today after I turned off & removed the keys the light on the radio continued to come on and off while the car was off and no key in the ignition...I know absolutely nothing about cars, but i am assuming the radio is shorting out the battery?? I am going to have that checked out tomrrw
