I would have the computer scanned for codes first.
You would need to figure out if the problem is fuel or ignition related to proceed.
A long list of possible causes includes low fuel pressure, fuel filter, spark plugs, blocked air filter, and so on.

have your spark plugs, coil pack boots checked for moisture,on many ford water will accumulate around plugs, expeually if it has rained recently.

You need to Replace the Catalytic Converter. That is what you are Smelling. It has Clogged up and will also Cause the Light on the Dash Problem. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!

I have the same car. So far no problems with the Transmision. I had the Trans oil change out every 60 K Sure sounds like you need to get the Transmision checked. Is the fault light on. I have invested ina fault code reader sure is worth it.
Good luck.  Vilmos

I have an 2007 Ford 500 AWD limited edition. My wrench light keeps coming on and when it does, it's undrivable. I get up to barely 10 mph and the rpms go up to 3-4 thousand at that.

Question moved to model category.

When the Engine Malfunction Light comes on, it also generates a code to tell you exactly what is causing the problem. The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) is a P???? number and can be searched online to find the cause and the fix. Currently you are in 'Limp Mode'. That is a serious fault that can severely damage your engine. Any garage will sell you the code for free. It takes less than 2 minutes. Write the code down and post it here below my Comment.

I have a 2007 ford edge im have transmion problems. . it shifts in and out of gear. Then rpms go almost to 6 rpms before it shift . but then then the wrench comes on the dash . and it runs just great. ....

Engine and transmission are removed as a unit from under the vehicle and then separated from each other while out of vehicle. This will include removal of part of the suspension and steering and the entire engine cradle.. This is something not suitable for "driveway" type of operation or if you are not well versed in this type if disassembly.
Hope this helps and good luck.

2007. Check Engine light is off. When I Accelerate to 40 mph to 60mph, why does the engine start to shake?

Bad motor mount? Sure that the shake is not coming from an unbalanced wheel with a corresponding shaking in steering wheel?

There MUST be some kind of problem with the linkage,Transmission Kickdown, Throttle?

Has your guy tried to open the throttle BY HAND, with it in gear, and you in the car with your foot on the brake?

Possible you have a broken throttle cable, and the linkage at the thottle is broken/bent.

Of course, this is JUST A GUESS, having never seen the car. Also, this is one that I, nor every other mechanic I know, has ever heard of.

Ford mustang acting like its not getting fuel

Sounds like a bad clutch to me. Get a new clutch installed and drive easy for the first 500 miles until it breaks in.
