Probably two different switches on the sensor. I'd say get a new Throttle position sensor. Try starting it with light pressure on the gas pedal, if it satrts it's definetly the TPS.

Your imobilizer activates when its cold this should be recalled its a black box3x3 behind a panel in your glove box mitsubishi knows about this

Remove the 3 knobs for air system.
Remove the 2 small philip screws at bottom.
Pull bezel straight out.
Remove 4 larger philip screws on either side of radio.
Pull radio straight out.
To find out if your radio has "AUX IN", hold CD button for about 2-3 secs. If AUX appears on display your model has "AUX" connector in back. 2003 and early 2004 do not have "aux in".
