2001 Volvo S40 1.9T - oil leaking into turbo

Check your heater hoses, coolant lines to the Turbo and Oil Cooler.

There could be many places the oil is coming from. If the flame trap wasn't cleaned regularly that could be the cause so if any repair is made, make sure that is cleaned. The two most frequent spots for leaks are the turbo return line, if it's a turbo, or the rear main seal. A leak should be pretty easy to find for a mechanic but might be difficult without it on a lift if you want to find it yourself. A mechanic would clean the areas where there is oil and add a dye to the oil and trace it with an ultraviolet light. This shouldn't cost too much and will give you a definitive answer. There are several other places oil could be leaking from in the front of the engine that you may not be able to see, these could be the camshaft seals or the crank seal. The test you had was for water pressure,but a blown head gasket or warping near oil galleys will cause oil to go into the water.
You need to do a compression test to see if there is a problem with the head gaskets.

the oil that you are seeing may be transmission fluid if its an automatic,the transmission lines go through the radiator for cooling.if the radiator fails in that section ,it could be leaking into the antifreze,or you have a blown head gasket

go with the mechanic he is there and able to see it, I would only be guessing, but this is a common leak area.

Water in combustion chamber makes white smoke--suspect that the head gasket is leaking water into the chamber. If oil leaking around turbo, it may have a bad bearing and bad oil seal. Check waste gate valve and control.

check turbo oil return pipe make sure it not clogged up .make oil pipe to turbo not leaking oil.

Could be the Turbo oil return pipe seal, its a cheap about $10 but you need to get to the pipe.
Its just a bit tricky to reach and you will need the gasket to go on the other end of the pipe when you take it off.
Its a well know fault check the Volvo Forums web site.

the only correct info is at volvo web site ,pay the 3 days and read the info,/or give us more info on pipe leaking,if its a turbo car pass side?is oil lines that leak/drivers side trans cooler lines? what type,color fluid?
