I just lost 3 cans of 134a that leaked right where I described it above

Apart from doing a low side pressure check, you can try to recharge the system yourself with a refill kit that's readily available at most auto parts stores. If you're concerned about a leak, also get a can of R-134A with the UV dye that will show any leaking components.
RECHARGING AC SYSTEM
Hopefully this answers your question and you're able to get your AC working again. Best of luck.

its a intake manifold or the heater core return hose to the rear of intake

I believe the heater hoses are on the pass side on your truck, but have you checked where the heater hoses go into the truck? Otherwise on the driver side I would check 2 things after I checked the hoses 1. Intake manifold check it up and down they are bad for leaking at one of the corners. and it could be running down the back onto the ground. 2. check the freeze plugs. if you can go to autozone see if they will loan you a coolant press test kit other wise they are about 30$ for one .With the car off top the coolant off and press the system to what the rad cap is rated 15 or 16 ect. get your flash light and chase the drip. I would say the intake is your first shot at finding it. if you have a uv light you can also add dye to the system let it run and find it. First get some thing to stand on get on over the intake and find the coolant just remember it can leak from here and run and drop there. hoses , intake , freeze plugs

SOURCE: My front differential is leaking!
neither of the previous solutions are coming from ppl who know what they are talking about. i am in the process of making this exact repair, on the same front differential. you have to un-bolt the cv from the axle shaft, then drop the front diff. the passenger side is easier to deal with than the driver side from what i'm experiencing. once you remove the axle tube from the passenger side it is very simple to dissassemble and replace seals and bearings. the drivers side however is a different story. there is a lock ring that holds the axle shaft into the diff on the drivers side, and i have yet to get to it to remove the axle shaft. once the axle shaft is removed, then you just pry out the seal and carefully tap a new seal in its place. reassembly is the opposite of disassembly. if you find out how to remove the axle shaft snap ring, please let me know. hope this helps
