Car alarm won't turn off after recharge of battery

'we recently replaced the batter of our 2003 Honda Odyssey. Soon after, the battery was dead again. We tried to recharge it with a home charger kit after it had completely drained, but the car alarm started to go off, and the only way to disable it was to put the key in the ignition and turn it to the on position However, with the key in the on position, the charger shuts off. Is there anything you can suggest?

When the battery is disconnected and replaced and when the battery is drained and then recharged, the anti-theft device in your car was activated.

Refer to your Manual to arm and disarm the anti-theft device, it should reset

If this does not work using the remote, try locking and unlocking the driver side door with the key and IMMEDIATELY START the car.

Where is the reset button located in a 2003 Honda Odyssey for the anti theft?

If the remote was programmed before loss of power, push and hold the unlock button until the alarm stops. If not try locking and unlocking the drivers side door with the the key. This has reset the alarm on my 2001 Odyssey.

You will also need the unlock code to reactivate your stereo after long term power loss. It is on a card with the manual given to the owner of new vehicles. A smart dealer will put it on a sticker in the glove box. Otherwise you have to remove the radio and give a Honda dealer the radio serial number to get the unlock code. Don't try it randomly; 10 incorrect tries locks the stereo.

Our 2007 odyssey the battery died after only one year. Bought new one now four days later car won't start again. We left no lights on or radio, not even the dvd player. What's wrong with this...

Battery might have died cause the altinator is not charging 14+V Please charge the battery, donot boost the dead battery. After charging the battery check the altinator output.
