Today I was driving my 1996 Chrysler Town and Country LXI minivan, the alarm on my keychain is broken and sometimes the alarm engages itself. If it does I have to run and put the key in the door to get it off, today I was at a light and went to accelerate and it had died, went to start it back up and the dash board area made some weird noises like electrical sounding then the gauges like the gas etc didn't work or the blinkers, etc. I had to coast over and then tried to start again after a sec it started, scared to drive it again. Have no Idea what it is. Checked the fuses and they all seem fine? Any ideas would be SOOOO APPRECIATED!

Possibly the camshaft and crankcase sensors. I had similar problems with my 2001 Town and Country.

This is a very common problem on 1998 dodge caravan, voyager, t and County. You have a cracked circuit board in your instrument cluster. It is a dealer item. You can remove your cluster and install the circuit board yourself to save money but after the install you will have to take the vehicle back to the dealer to have it calibrated before the tach and the speedometer will work.

you need to put a scanner on it and see what code comes up.
my guess would be the crank sensor which is very common .

Also when I lock the car and then try to open it the alarm goes off and I didn't even know it had an alarm, I don't have the alarm for it only a key so I have to run and put the key and turn it a few times it almost seem to not turn it off the other day. Last night I tried to open the door and it kept automatically locking as I'm trying to open it. I think It's something electrical causing a bunch of issues. Any ideas would be very helpful. Thanks
