My TL recently started getting hot and smoking. The smoke comes thru on the vents in the cabin. Kinda smells like Anti-Freeze burning. The hose that the smoke comes out of is on the left back side of the motor(when facing front grille of the car) I am unsure what hose this is and now my car is having problems starting. Kinda like the battery is dead but it is not???Please help.
This is usually associated with a leak in the heater core. Only proper solution is to replace the heater core. Suggest getting a service manual from local automotive parts store if you want to do it yourself. Usually lots of hidden screws that the book will give you the correct procedure to follow. Or pay someone else to do the repair. Repair manuals usually run less than $40.

if ur antifreeze keeps showing low or none , there is a leak in the system. check for leaks in the radiator or in the colling systems piping.

I had the same problem, whole new radiator, new hoses, new thermostat, and still overheating. What the problem was for me...bad radiator cap...all that money and a $20 fix...try it?

The car has 189000+ miles, and I filled up the radiator reservoir on Friday now it is Monday and it needs more. The Radiator and the main hose is full of anti freeze. I refilled with 50/50 antifreeze. I know the power steering pressure hose has a leak as well, unsure if they are related though.
