I was driving on the highway and the engine began to shake as I accelerated, when I let off of the gas it stopped shaking, I pulled over shut the engine off and restarted after a minute or so and the engine shook and then died. I had it towed to a repair shop who told me it threw a rod but when I picked it up; I drove it home with no problem, no engine light, no shaking etc. The engine was almost 1 qt low on oil, but now it makes a ticking not like a rod knocking. The tick is with the RPM of the engine, when the RPM goes up the ticking is faster, I seems to run OK besides the ticking noise. Any ideas?

Fuel sensor is not working well. Just changed mine today for the same problem.
one check if your wheels are tight 95 ftlbs if mag wheels remove make sure no heavy corrosin arond hub and rim wheel will not seat properly and come loose. 2 check front end if belts are showing check ball joints and tie rides for wear vans are also known
for bad wheel bearings even if you cant hear it at 80km50mph give or take it may have ecssive play
check that front end .otherchecks ps pump and or loose p/s belt

There only one problem wrong. You dont let your transmission warm up.You transmission has you warm up just like the motor.Try this and i promise when you take off it will shift like no other

my 05 sedona was doing the same thing. Turns out the oil grade was to high. You need to get the oil changed with 5 - 30 grade. Add moa treatment and then drive in 2nd around your block keeping it between 2,500 & 3,000 rpms when you drive around the block. That will bleed your lifters and should fix your problem.

Notice that all of the misfiring cylinders are on the same side of the engine. How was it determined that this is an electrical issue? I would expect further codes to turn up as a misfire code is not very informative. Good luck!

Mine is making 2 ticking sounds, different and on different sides. They CAN start after it has started warming up. I thought it was oil, as it was just under a quart low. (lifters, etc. normally won't make any noise this low) It wasn't oil. BECAUSE one side stops before the other, and quits after it's warm, it is looking like fuel mixture and grade. The tick almost sounds like it's on the OUTSIDE the motor. I'm going to try a GOOD injector cleaner and a shot of high grade fuel. While it first SOUNDS terrible, the "ticking" does not have the same sound as a lifter inside the engine. I'll be checking and blowing out the air filter also.
The terrible sound and shutdown can be the computer not understanding the sensors. sometimes letting it sit for awhile may work, as may taking off a battery cable for a minute or two to reset the computer. Sorento really changed (screwed up) their 2005 model from the 2004. The transmission problems from tryins to shift between shifting was caused by an overheated wire shorting out, so they ran a separate wire to a ground, leaving the wires STILL getting overheated being too close to the motor.
There was a recall on the wire problem, they didn't tell me or FIND IT, lost 2 months of time with it being in the shops. I finally demanded they look it up and ask a Corporate Tech! THEN they found it.
added oil was a little low but still making noise after letting the oil circulate
