1992 Golf GTI, 8v 2L (2E).
Car performing normal.
However noticed oil around second spark plug well and when spark plug was removed, thread of spark plug showed signs of oil, but the tip or electrode was bone dry.
Please advise
This could simply mean that too much oil has been added and overflowed on to the engine.if the vehicule runs well and is not noisy i would not worry about it. the spark plugs should be inspected to make sure they are seating properly.always start the threading of the plug to the head by hand.
More than likely you have a leaking valve cover gastet. Not a head gasket.

I have a 1991 Acura Legend that wont start, i opened all of the spark plug wires out of all 6 wells and found two of them filled with oil covering half of the spark plug....the car also doesnt want to turn over....I cleaned the bays and tried to start it again the car barely started for about 3 seconds and than turned off...after that it never started....the threads are dry and the bottom tip that goes inside the engine was dry on both of them..and if you stand in front of the car, its the two spark plugs on the left hand side of the vehicle the two outer ones...its a v-6 and the layout is facing you just like the letter "v". can anyone help me????
