I was taking my daughter to school and when I went to pass slow moving vechicle the car kind of chugged and then completely died. it gave me the "Reduced Engine Power" warning light. I got it pulled over to the shoulder when i turned it back on it still had the same warning light plus the check engine light was on. It had didnt have much acceleration at all. but when i got it home turned it off and turned it back on all the warning lights and check engine lights were off and it ran just fine?

It could be something as simple as a bad or loose ground wire but the hard part is finding it.
Good luck

Have you ever had the catalytic converter changed. Over time the pellets inside will melt together and this will make the care very very sluggish like it does not want to run. You may want to try that.
SOURCE: what is really wrong with my 2006 pontiac grand
chevrolet trailblazers have same issues. under the hood with the engine off, look at the engine fan,in front of the fan you will see an electrical plug, follow the plug up in front of your radiator,do you see a boot that the plug runs into? if you see the boot, unplug it. this will give you back the power but will not solve the issue. that fan will need replaced, cost around $300.00 for part but no one will replace it unless they run diagnostic on it to be sure thats what it is,even if you can see the wires are broken.it's a power loss issue and i truly wish that gm could have done something different than throwing it to john q. customer.it really stinks but try looking at it just to be sure i'm right. if you see i'm not right i apoligize for wasting your time.thank you for choosing fixya.com and i look forward to assisting you in the future.
