Eed to know how many quarts of fluid the auto trans takes for 1996 izuzu trooper

Is it a automatic or standard if it is an auto.I would check the modulator valve on the trans,pull the vaccum line off and check for trans fluid in the line.

There is only two ports on the ac unit. when you get fluid at auto store,the end will only fit one and that will be the low pressure side so dont bother about putting it on the wrong on. Simply start car up an turn the ac unit on ( it must be on ) hook up fluid and fill until can is empty. some come with gauge which will show how much is needed and if not dont bother just let the can empty. In most cases it take the whole can anyways......hope this helps and good luck.

Automatic transmissions all use ATF fluid. Select a known brand, preferably one that is manufactured and marketed by one of the big name petroleum companies.

Is your trans an auto trans? If so, you should have the 45rfe trans which would take 5-7 quarts to refill after a filter change.

Use only Chrysler or Valvoline ATF+4 fluid.

I have the exact same problem. I can lock it in low range with the shifter but the auto push button doesn't work. Hope someone knows something./

When your replace both the filter and fluid you'll only get to @ 4.5 quarts. Reason being I recommend changing the fluid, run it for a day or two and change the fluid again. This way you will be more incline to dilute out the old tranny fluid. Think of it as having a bucket of dirty water, if you dump out half and fill with good water you still have alot of dirt in there, if you were to dump it half way down again and refill you end up with cleaner fluid. If you do the filter alone with fluid you only get @ half of the fluid. It is cheap insurance as the Chrysler trans-axels are very touchy to the fluid quality.

You will need to drop the trans pan to drain. In turn you will need a trans filter kit which will include the filter and gasket. As far as fluid, it will require mercon dexron auto trans fluid, and will take about 6 quarts. What I normally do is fill with 5 qts and check, then add half qt at a time till full, which is normally 6 qts.

add three quarts (use Dexron 6) and then run engine until trans fluid is hot, at least 180 degrees F, the top it off with the 4 quart. it is critical that the trans fluid be hot, don't overfill!

yes it does, however you can get just a radiator and then have a larger aftermarket trans oil cooler. my question to you is is there a reason you want to not have an intergrated trans cooler/radiator?
