This is slightly tricky. Start by removing the trim
around the shifter, its friction fitted so it will pop off with gentle force. Then you
can remove the larger piece
of trim that surrounds the shifter and extends up to the cup holders, I found that prying from the cup
holder end seems to work best. Now you will be able to remove the trim that
runs down the side of the center consol
and includes the cup holders
and power plug, you undo the 2 screws near the shifters then pry it off down the
sides and pulls clear from the dash. Only then can you undo the bolts that hold
down the bottom of the
radio frame. From there it becomes alot
easier. Push on the frame where you just pulled the
bolts out of while prying gently at the radio consol. The whole thing will come out the factory
unit comes out easily then you can put your dash adapter (schoche makes a
decent kit) and aftermarket unit in.
Remove the screws holding the dash speaker grilles in place, with the appropriate right angle screwdriver.
Remove the screws holding the speaker in place, again with the appropriate right angle screwdriver.
Lift the speakers from the dash. Disconnect the harness securing the wire to the factory speakers.
Connect the aftermarket speakers to the speaker harness adapter's flying leads. Connect the adapter end to the factory harness plug, sticking out out of the dash.
Set the aftermarket speakers back into the factory holes, and secure them with the original screws. Replace the grille covers, and secure them with the original screws.
