Rain water leaking in inside back interior light from hatch opening

Rain water is leaking in through the back interior light that shines onto the back hatch area through the back light rubber housing for the lights. there are two of these on the top side when you open that back hatch and it looks like one of them is leaking. Do I need to replace the component that goes over the hole or use some type of sealer around the hole?

SOURCE: Door Ajar Warning Light Stays On

Our Ford Expedition & an Olds Silhouette Premier & both did the same thing. Someone online said to spray the inside door where the metal connects with the frame & sensors are there with WD-40. We did & it fixed the problem. Maybe this will work for yours.

SOURCE: I have a coolant leak.2001 alero 4cy 2.4

Look around the sides of the motor. Aleros are famous for faulty pan gaskets. Ours has been in the shop twice for this. If the mechanic doesn't get it put in just right it will continue to leak.

SOURCE: water was leaking inside on passengers side, now

HVAC drain tube was blocked and condensation could not drain to the outside of the vehicle

as a result the water pooled inside the HVAC case leaking on the inside and killing your blower motor and probably blower motor resistor

clear the drain, replace the blower and resistor and you'll be back in business

Rain or shine water on front & rear floor of '98 Sunfire convertible; seats & interior dry. Removed heater core but water still there. AC needs charging so not using it.

My sister's and my brothers GM hardtops both leaked like yours is doing.
My sister got hers fixed, my brother opted not to do so.
The leaks turned out to be body leaks from the factory from water running in body openings at the windows and body joints.
I believe my sister had to have the fenders pulled off to fix it.
God bless your efforts.

Likely your hatch light is what is setting off your alarm. Spray water around the hatch switch area with everything closed. Check for leaks.

Back hatch is not catching the latch to close. My

I would contact your local ford dealer. I worked at a ford dealer in 2003-2005 and there was a recall for the problem youre having with the hatch not latching and the leak. It started for the 2002 explorers I believe. There were exposed holes on the roof that were leaking into the inside-we had a body shop and had the recalls performed through the body shop.
Hopefully if my memory serves me right, you could get this done for FREE!!!

Water leaking into KH laser Hatchback

It could be coming in through the rear door as the rubber might not be sealing properly the easiest way to find the leak is to remove your seats and carpet sit inside get someone to squirt the car round the doors and windscreen air vents.

Leack proplem

is it water or coolant? if it's just rain water, open passenger door and check around door frame for any holes that the rubber seals should be in are unplugged. if so just plugg them back in. also open hood and check area right below windshield, there should be a rubber strip the lenth of the window, make sure it's press firmly down. look down further to see if any holes where rain can get in, if so plug them up. if it's coolant, it's probably a heater hose . good luck

Leaking onto boot

Some cars have an adjustment that can be made to the hatch to make it a tighter seal. You could also try new seals. Seals tend to shrink with age.
