SOURCE: ALARM RANDOMLY GOES OFF!!

the factory fit alarm is not voltage sensing .The best advice is to go to VW garage and get them to read the alarm causes,(they can check the last 4).this will give you a good idea where the fault lies.ie door lock mechanism, interior monitor etc..You cannot start looking for problem until you know alarm cause..

SOURCE: alarm system in my 95 vw golf

if i remember right these golfs were immobilised by a transponder which is built into your original key and the circuits that are immobillised are the starter motor wire which can be bypassed and the other one is to the fuel pump relay but the loom goes straight to underneath the back seat , so you need to get a live to the fuel pump by some means !

your best bet is dropping the drivers side fuse box which is held by about four screws and then there is a plastic latch at each side that you just flick up by hand and then the fuse box can be lifted off its brackets in an upwards motion !

just pray that its not a factory immobilliser which is fitted because you will see where the immobilliser cuts are all made at the back of the fusebox which will make it so much easier to solder the original coloured wires together to get the car started .

and yep i have worked on this car many times and ripped my hair out over the original transpoder immobilliser bypass lol !

Do you have a key fob? Unlock the car with that and you should be OK. My sons Elantra is the same way, you can only get in with the fob. I guess the car thinks it's being stolen otherwise. If you don't have a fob, I'm no help

SOURCE: VW Jetta alarm malfunction

Go to your local junk or scrapyard and pull them yourself. The dealer charges an average of 90-100 dollars an hour. So a lot of the money they quoted you for was probably for labor

Turn a corner and the hooter goes off!

I assume you mean the horn. This sounds like a wiring problem. You may have a wire that has lost the insulation, either by rubbing or by rodents. When you go around a corner, the wire shorts to either another wire or come grounded metal which sets off the horn.

How to replace temperature sensor in vW golf citi 1.4i 2006

I am driving VW Citi golf sport 1.4i,every morning whn is cold my car couldn't start, after many attempts it would and when I try to accelerate it will choke. After buying the temperature sensor my problem was solved. the mechanics advised me to buy petrol filter and petrol gauge regulator and a petrol pump, thanks I didn't buy them. Only a temperature sensor made my car a comfortable drive.
