It is the running light relay the problem it is not mentioned on any wiring diagram!!!! all you have to do is change it, or if your are able to do so!! yo can weld inside the relay box a circuit that is defect. the box is located under the dash driver side it is bolted with a 10 mm bolt if you have any problem finding it please wright back thanx

blown fuse.
the CEL lamp must glow, or the ECU is dead. (no power)
the CEL is very important lamp telling you the ECU has power
and it thinks(sic) that it is ok, (basics)
if the lamp is burned out, it become hard to work the ECU.
as this ECU flashes codes for errors,
check all fuse. in both boxes.
Please check on the main fuse box for the fuse to the turn signal as this can be the fault. If not check the voltage on the flasher unit to confirm if the unit is faulty.
Hello Jeff, I've seen this before, a while back on a Pontiac Sunbird. A friend called me with the same issue as you. I did come checking of (looking for low resistance using a ohm meter) the low-beam elements, both were open (no resistance, which comes from the little spiral wire just like a regular light bulb). This is what I believe happened to you. One headlight went out previously but still having one that worked you didn't really notice. You did notice however when the last and only low-beam filament went out and this lead you to believe (as did my friend) that both went out together. You probably need to change both bulbs. Check first each low-beam, unplugged of course with a ohm meter to confirm. I favor those bluish bulbs, got mine at Pep Boys (Pilot brand?). You can see better with those in my honest opinion.
HI. This vehicle contains a under the hood relay box near the front corner of the battery(which is labeled if not deteriorated), and there is also a fuse container box located below the left side of the instrument panel, as well(inside the vehicle on driver side).
The under-hood fuse box generally contains fuses and relays for engine and major electrical systems such as air conditioning, headlights (left and right respectively), fuel injection components, etc. The in-car fuse-box holds fuses for the cabin circuits such as wipers, cigarette lighter, rear defogger, signal lights etc.
Hi,
First check the fuse in the fuse box for signal light, replace the fuse with similar value if it is busted. If the fuse is still intact the problem would be the flasher relay( small cylindrical aluminum ) that is already malfunctioning.
Start with your fuses:
Fuses are in two areas. In the interior fuse box (left kick panel, below the dash--fuse chart on the cover) and in the engine compartment fuse box (far upper left as you face the car: fuse chart on the cover). Tail/Brake lights are combined with the Horn fuse in the engine compartment box. The fact that both taillights are out as well as the dash does not suggest the bulbs, but anything is possible. Tail light bulbs are accessed from inside the trunk compartment. Hope this is of some help
After you have checked the fuseand the bulb connection, you may also want to check the brake switch located at top of the brake padel under the dashboard. Once you push the brake padel, the switch will trigger and the brake light will be on. Use simple 12 volt test pen or voltmeter to test the current supply. Enjoy it.
