Where does an 80 amp fuse get installed in a chevy equinox

I wouldn't recommend replacing an 80-amp mega fuse with a 100-amp fuse in a 2008 Equinox. The mega fuse is designed to protect the electrical system from excessive current, and using a fuse with a higher amp rating could potentially cause damage to your vehicle's electrical system or even cause a fire.
It's important to use the correct fuse rating as specified by the manufacturer. Using a fuse with a higher amp rating than specified can result in the fuse not tripping and protecting the electrical system in the event of a short circuit or other electrical problem

Check fuse # 63 marked EPS, 80 amp.

If that fuse is good, then you likely fried the Steering Control Module

50 amp mega fuse !

Locate the fusebox
Locate the 80amp fuse you wish to replace
Remove the old fuse
Take new fuse and insert it into slot
Test the fuse by seeing if the electronic that runs on itsit is working

Double check that all fuses are still good and in the right locations.
Sometimes they will pop when you install them right after you saw that they were still good.

My power steering system in Equinox 2007 just stopped to work without any reason. I tried to find solutions and found out that there was no dedicated fuse for it. Which means that it is under the computes's control. What should we do with any computer first if we have problems? That's correct - restart it! :-)
I disconnected the battery for 30 seconds and voila - no issue with power steering anymore. No expensive parts, no 80 amp fuse replacement, no service of any kind :-)

The fuse for the Electronic Power Steering (EPS) is marked "EPS" and is located in the underhood fuse block on the left side of the engine compartment. It is an 80 Amp fuse. If this fuse was blown as a result of jump-starting the engine, something must have gone terribly wrong! Like - maybe the cables got hooked up backwards or something? You probably have some serious computer system damage...I would get prepared to spend some BIG BUCKS!

there is a fuse in between the part of the battery connectors under the hood..... i think its an 80 amp fuse. change that out and then put a new one in..i had to buy a higher amp fuse but it works till i find a 80 amp fuse.i hope this helps you....

The Chevy Equinox has an 80 Amp mega fuse that tends to fail and cause all sort of power steering and Stabilitrak issues. Before I messed with the belts or power steering pumps, I would check the fuse first.
