On my 2006 Blazer, I hear a knocking or flapping noise when I am riding around 45 mph. The noise sounds like it coming from under the truck maybe from the rear. Sometimes it sounds like it's coming form the front. And the check engine light comes on and stays on and the next day it will be off. Can anyone tell me what this problem could be?

replace the front u joint. I had the same issue with my truck, and I noticed that the front u joint didn't come stock with a greese zerk, the oem replacement does so they wear out fast. by the time I found it, it still looked ok till I removed the drive shaft....It was very close to wearing through.

Knocking Noise Is NOT a Good or Normal thing I will Not try and Diagnose it But I STRONGLY Suggest That You Stop By A Couple Service Shops For a EAR ON Check for this KNOCK and
I say A Couple Shops Meaning 3-4 So as to get The right Diagnosis

Check your tires for belt shift and clean the inside of the rims for dirt buildup.
SOURCE: There is a loud noise at 45mph.
Find a quiet empty stretch of road. Go 50 mph, put the trans in NEUTRAL and shut the engine. If noise is still there, swing car left and right to detect noise differences. Could be hub or axle bearings. Not engine or trans if noise is still there. Hope this helps
