SOURCE: AC is not blowing cold air. How do I add freon?

What you will be looking for (in your engine compartment) looks almost like a large valve stem that you would see on a tire. It will probably have some kind of plastic cap on it.

It shouldn't be that difficult to find. You may want to search for an engine compartment diagram for your make/model/year vehicle.

Sounds like the compressor has failed.

SOURCE: 99 STS AC is blowing hot air

I had the same problem but it was blowing hot air on the passenger side of the car. I assume you have the dual zone controls that I have as well. The problem is most likely the damper that controls the flow of hot and cold air into the car. The motorized component of the damper is most likely not working and its stuck in the hot air position.

I had mine replaced by a repair shop so I cant tell you how to replace it but it may be something that you can do if you have the time and patience to work on it.

Good luck

2000 jeep cherokee AC compressor clutch makes 2 rattling noises when I first start the engine for the day. It only started doing this after I recharged the AC with r134a because the AC wasn't blowing...

Does it make the noise even if the ac is switched off ? Its possible you have too much freon in the system, but the compressor should not be involved if it is turned off.

My ac in my 2006 saturn ion blows cold air when its under 80 degrees outside but when its over 80 degrees it will blow warm air sometimes and cold sometimes what could be wrong with it

You likely need to charge the AC with freon. If it has been a year or three since you've had it checked, it is probably low on freon and needing to have some added.

I noticed my ac in my 2004 Corolla with 138,000 miles wasn't blowing as cold in recent months. I've never had the AC serviced in the 8 years I've owned it. So I used one of those 12 ounce self...

If this was happening to me.... I'd goto an airconditioning re-gas centre and get them to check for gas leaks. In my old commodore the Evaporator Core was leaking and causing some of the issues you have mentioned.

2004 YUKON DENALI AC PROBLEM. CHECKED FREON PRESSURE (125 PSI) CHECKED FUSES, COMPRESSOR TURNS ON, BLOWER WORKS FINE. WHAT ELSE COULD IT BE?

If you are talking the low side having 125 PSI, that is WAY to much pressure if the compressor clutch is engaged and you have a pressure reading of that amount on the low side. You may have a blockage or if you or someone tried adding freon because it wasn't cold then you may have another problem which could be many reasons. If freon 134a is to high the sytem will actually run hot instead of cold. I'm not sure as to what has been done so far but just giving you what information I can with what I know. I hope this helps and good luck. (also see the the acuator door is open as this will cause the cold air not to go through)

Not blowing cold air !!

You need check the level with a gage while its on and blowing high on the low side the ac.
either it need R134a added ore you might have leak. Best thing is check the level first and if low add the dye to see where leaks out and then top off the ac until full but you cant over fill it ore it loc up the ac pump

My ac does not blow cold in my 97 cadillac deville but it does blow just not cold and its n ot the fuse what can i do?

You probably have leaked out your freon after so much time. Try adding some more Freon if it doesnt stay charged you may have bigger issues.

1999 Dodge Ram AC blows cold at idle and up to 40 mph

Most likely the orifice tube/expansion valve needs to be replaced. Depending on the type of system, you will have one or the other but they both perform the same function. The expansion valve is typically located at the evaporator inlet. Orifice tubes can be located at the evaporator inlet, in-line between the condenser and the evaporator, or in the condenser outlet. You will have to discharge the system in order to replace. Not very hard to do.
