1997 2500 dodge ram only blows lukewarm heat, what could be wrong?

    Is the trucks temp. gauge getting up to normal operating levels? Around 200 F should be in the ballpark

It can be not enough coolant. Check the coolant level. Also the regulator can be at the position than car takes air form outside not inside. Have it checked too.

I have the same problem in an 1995 and 2000. Heatercore, hoses, radiator, and thermostat have all been replaced. still nothing but lukewarm air... are these hvac controls controlled by vacuum or electronics?

the flap in the air box may be broken or not ingageing all the way check for vac leaks and switch the air from defrost to vent and see if its working properly
