The turn signal bulb (passenger side front) burned out. It continues to blink fast even after replacement. What needs to be fixed?
Hey people. , I had the same problem with my 04 ion. I was at the dealer one day and the service guy told me there was a recall on all SATURN IONS because of this problem. So if you still have the car get it checked at a dealer. Hope this helps you PEACE

This is *not* a solution, but another way to verify that it's the socket, not the bulb.
I read the above, then went and opened up the light-compartment - sure enough, there was some darkening (barely) in the socket. I wiggled the bulb around and tried the signal again, and it worked. If the bulb was pushed in further, it failed. I suspect that a sliver of insulating material under the bulb inside the socket might do the trick (anything that keeps the bulb from settling in too far), and am planning on trying that if I can find something that I feel will work.

Check inside the bulbs connector.. My Ion had some sort of residue that wouldn't allow connection to the bulb. If you have a black/brown tar substance there, scrape it off, or use liquid contact cleaner (Or BOth)..
Also check the bulb leads, and make sure they're clean...

This happened to my car as well. I put the bulb in the other light and it worked find then I noticed that the socket was burned so I called about getting a replacement socket and was told that this was a common problem. I cut off the socket section from the part they sold me and spliced it on myself. Works fine now.
