2000 Accordlx eng. light on and drive blinks yellow code p0780?

with a fault of "problem in transmission control " this is a very general fault , but a good transmission shop that deals with Honda's might have access to a borrowed control module to test it out , who knows you might have to only buy one of these not an entire transmission , accord to transmission's dot com a 2ooo Honda transmission lists for 1253.00 dollars rebuilt ones go for about 2/3 that price

- Low transmission fluid level - Dirty transmission fluid - Faulty shifting solenoid valve - Shifting solenoid valve harness or connectors - Shifting solenoid valve circuit is open or shorted The Error code is generally activated on detection of the following conditions: The P0780 codes is detected when no rotation change occurs between input (turbine revolution sensor) and output (revolution sensor) and shifting time is long or when shifting ends immediately or when engine revs up unusually during shifting.So check out these points and see if any are all help keep me posted

scan it , and see all errors. and this
fault Code: P0780(4501);

P07xx are tranny errors.
reset the ecu (scan tool button) and pray it dont come back.

This is indicating a shift malfunction. This needs to be diagnosed by a trusted transmission shop in your area.

The code you have P0780 is an internal hydraulic problem in the transmission. I did some research on this trouble code and the repair manual Say's to replace the torque converter clutch solenoid valve/shift solenoid valve A, and the A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valves A and B.

In plain English these are the shift solenoids and torque converter solenoids. These solenoids control the fluid flow to the transmission and if they are not working properly then p0780 will set.

The bad news is the repair manual Say's to replace these solenoids and if the problem is still present then replace or overhaul the transmission because the problem is internal.

Most repair shops are not going to take the risk and just replace the solenoids, they will replace or overhaul the transmission.

The check engine light comes on if there is an issue.But Honda also has preset the Check engine light to come on to remind you of oil changes.If you want to shut the Check engine light off.There is a Yellow Reset Button inside the Fuse panel.

check egr ports may be filled with **** or egr might be full of **** and need clean

it could be the coil or distrubutor cap
