You must remove the fuel tank to drain it and then have the fuel filter replaced and the lines flushed out, this is not a do at home job.

SOURCE: Contaminated fuel

Your best bet is to contact the station where the fuel was purchaced and demand that they pay to have the tank removed and cleaned.Plus ,gasoline can cause internal (diesel) engine damage. The engine should also be tested for damage, especially with regard to cylinder compression pressure.

SOURCE: ford fusion 1.4 tdci will not start unless the hand pump is used

HAVE YOU CHECKED THE FUEL LINES WHERE THE FUEL PRIMING PUMP IS CONNECTED FOR ANY CHAFFING THEY ARE COMMON FOR CHAFFING BESIDE THE FUEL FILTER WHICH WOULD EXPLAIN WHY FUEL IS RETURNING TO FUEL TANK.

SOURCE: Unleaded Fuel in a Diesel Engine

THERE is 2 ways to do it 1 take the tank out and drain it OR get a small 12volt pump as they fitted to a lot of English cars (Morris Minor Jag ) etc and fit a small fuel pipe 3/16" to both in let and out let and put the one with arrow to tank into tank and other end to a fuel drum (about same size as tank)and plug into 12v battery and let tank pump dry,

When you refill tank with Diesel add 1 ltr of petrol to full tank of Diesel it starts and runs 30% better.

If your dad tried to start it on petrol then undo INJECTOR pipes and spin over till Diesel comes out before you tighten injectors feed and starting engine.

Hi I mistakenly mixed unleaded with diesel in my navara when I drain my tank do I have get all the fuel out

assuming that it should have been diesel then clean out the fuel lines and replace the filters and a few litres of petrol in the tank will mix in with the diesel
if it is a petrol and you put in diesel then it is not so critical as the diesel will mix with the petrol and the oil in the diesel will act as upper cylinder lubricant so up to 5 litres left will be ok

Drain Diesel from gas tank

No easy way, if you can get an electric pump, or a pump attachment for a power drill. Remove the fuel line, either at the fuel filter or the fuel rail, connect the pump with a bridging piece of hose, and let the pump do the work. Refill with a couple of gallons of petrol. Vehicle might smoke a little till all traces of diesel are gone. Diesel in petrol is not as bad as petrol in diesel. As you did not run the engine very little diesel will get up to the engine. Good Luck.

Tank filled with about 50% diesel...will it damage engine to run?

the actual motor no, But just about every sensor on it yes ,, drop the tank and drain it , besides it would smoke so bad if it did even run,, you don't want to take the chance

Have a 2011 RR Sport Diesel. incorectly put 2 LTRS unleded fuel defore cut out activated.Used the reset tool provided & filled the tank with Diesel Intend on continually diluting on a regular topping...

You must drain and refill the fuel tank. Some of these systems use optical sesnors in the injection pump and can be damaged not to mention the damage to the pistons and valves. Great trucks. Drain the tank.
