Are you getting spark to the plugs ?
Is the fuel pressure in the normal range ?
Any chance the timing belt has jumped a tooth or two ?
Have you checked for trouble codes ?
It could be a long list of possible issues. You'll have to narrow it down to fuel or spark to proceed.

SOURCE: 1997 Dodge Intrepid cranks over won't fire

I have this same NO START problem...
Began with tach giving readings not exceding 1200 rpm with strange 4000 + spikes.. Cruse control would not turn on or off at times and indicator light would only work sometimes..Had several episodes of excessive cranking to get it to start.. Stalling out while driving and even at freeway speeds.. Pulling the negative cable for 10 min. allowed it to start although with lots of cranking and put it in limp mode which required another computer reset to get out of.. Had thrown error codes related to cam and crank sensors which were replaced along with coil and manifold temp sensors.. Had the 9 volt power to sensors when key was on but the check engine light does not stay on with all the other idiot lights..
I wish people who respond would read the post first..
Original post states,
Cranks,No spark,No fuel pump run, changed some sensors ect...
If it cranks it ain't the neutral safety switch, starter or battery!! WAKE UP!!
Seems the computer is not turning on the coil, injectors or fuel pump for a reason.. Find that reason and you will find the solution to the problem.. Seeing as that the computers logic states are a dealer secrete the poster as I have changed many parts in blind hope that it will fix the problem.. Relays, sensors and ecu computer.. Did a visual check of all harness potential wear spots like where it crosses over the power rack..
Could it be in the wiring harness inside the dash??
Could it be a bad ground??
Can an alternator that has failed cause the computer not to start??
Can a bad oil pressure sensor cause the computer not to start??
Can signal loss from the TCU or BCU to the ECU cause this??
Is there an undocumented kill if the ECU thinks it was in an accident??
I can ground the relay line from the ECU and the fuel pump runs and pressures up and the other relays turn on as well..
This crank but no start problem seems to be common with a lot of 1994-2001 Dodge and Chrysler owners.. All these systems have become interlaced with undocumented safety features that baffle the DIYer..If you have seen this and have fixed it PLEASE RESPOND!!!!

SOURCE: 1999 dodge neon

I had the same issue and it turned out to be grounding issues. by that I mean ALL of my grounds were rusted/loose/ too small wire/ ect.

To curb this issue i had to locate multiple grounding wires on the engine and that little wire running from the ground terminal to the front cross member was heating up because so much current draw through it- after locating grounding wires, Sanding the connections and using petroleum jelly AND replacing the ground terminal and Positive terminal the issue cleared up.

The only reason i knew it was ground issues on my car was finding that one chassis ground wire heating up from just running my car.

Cherokee revs up wont start

Your description is too vague to give specific advise. However, if you are stating that the engine turns over when you turn the key but it wont run, then you want to check a few possibilities. Fuel, Spark, compression. Make sure the engine is getting fuel. Then check for spark at one of the plug wires. Then check cylinder compression. No fuel can be a fuel pump, plugged filter, or pump electrical connection, like pump relay or wires. Spark problem can be ignition coil, coil pack, distributor module, distributor points. Compression can be piston rings, valves, head gasket. This is not everything, but it may help you!

I have a 97 pontiac grand prix and it will turn over but it wont start. i've had it look at my a couple mechanics and they said it wasnt my fuel pump maybe its the coil pack, so i buy a new set of

Learning how to test a GM distributor less ignition system rather then guessing an replacing parts is the proper way to diagnose . Pulling a couple of pull wires of the same coil an having someone crank the engine over to see if there is spark would the first test . If there is no spark ,could be the ignition module , or the crankshaft postion sensor .

The engine crank but it wont start, when we are traveling the vehicle lose its power. we check the fuel pump and it dose not work, still wont start

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. I am assuming the fuel pump works. If it doesn't, check the pump, fuses, and relay. Check your fuel pump button if you have one. This vehicle is new so you may have an electrical issue. Is the check engine light on? If so, you need to have the computer scanned. Many things can cause the engine to not start. If could be fuel related. Check your fuel pressure to make sure it is normal. If it is not, check your fuel filter, lines, and injectors. It may be the ignition system, such as plugs/coils, wires, distributor, coil packs, distributor cap. You need fuel, fire, and air to start the car. I don't know how many miles you have, but if it is up there, you need to check the plugs, coils, ect. I need to know miles, if your check engine light is on. It could be the starter, starter solenoid, or ignition module. Post back so I can help you. Thanks.

The car suddenl wont turn over. It has a brand new starter & the battery is fine but it wont turn over.

This will be due to a bad fuel pump, a broken timing belt, an inoperative cam sensor or crank sensor. Also this problems are related to faulty spark plug. Check the spark at spark plugs when you start the car. Do you notice any spark. Actually you should see. If in case there is no spark then it's a spark plug problem. Also the coil pack gives power to spark plug. So check the voltage at coil pack. It will show 12 volt.If there is no voltage noticed at coil pack then its faulty coil pack that has to be replaced. Also check and confirm that there is fuel in the car. If its very low fuel then in some cases this causes the problem. Also check and confirm that fuel pump is functioning properly and the fuel filter is not clogged. One of the easiest ways to check for a fuel pump related problem is to spray a little starting fluid into the air intake while trying to start the car. If the car starts momentarily, then there's a good chance the fuel pump is not working or the car is out of gas. You can also listen for the fuel pump's humming sound when the key is first turned on. Also if a inoperative fuel pump is suspected, a good technician will always check to verify there is power and ground being supplied to the pump, to eliminate the possibility of a bad relay or electrical issue. Fuel pressure can be checked with a pressure gauge and if there is pressure, pulse can be checked at the fuel injectors in several ways including the most common, with the use of noid lights. If the injectors don't have pulse the engine won't start. ---------- This troubleshooting tips will help you to solve the problem.Thanks.Helpmech.

Engine wont start. Acts like it is hitting on two cylinders. Need advice on how to check the coil packs.

Start engine, used spark plug piler so you don't get shock, remove one wire at a time if you dot' have spark replace that coil pack, there is three coil pack on top of ignition module you don't have to replace all, just bad one.hope this help.

1991 lesabre wont start after shutting down. If it sits a few hours starts up great again. changed plugs, plug wires, coil pack, and Ignition control module but still same problem. ran a little rough but...

Best to do a fuel pressure test, pump might be weak and dosent show up until it gets gets warm. Best to do the test after it quits again when pump is at its hottest. If you havent done it yet chg. fuel filter too.
