SOURCE: 1988 suzuki samurai WONT MOVE

First thing just try to push or pull the 4x4 lever if you get it to move and it feels like it went into some gear try to drive the truck. If this works look on the shifter for the 4x4 and put it in 2 wheel drive (H2 is two wheel drive,H4 is 4x4 high, and L4 is 4x4 low range).Make sure you have the clutch depresed when you try to move the 4x4 lever. If you try this stuff with no fix try and look for clutch adjustment on the transmision you may need to adjust it or your clutch is bad.

Look at the timing belt and make sure it is on and tight. Then maybe pull the distributor and make sure it isn't bad

SOURCE: I have a 1988 suzuki

The transmission doesn't have a dipstick but it does have a fill level plug located at the rear of the extension housing, just to the passengers side. It is a round plug with a 3/8 square hole in it.
Fill trans till oil overflows out of this hole.
Use VMX80 or similar.

Check the fuel filter. Check fuel pump. Gas may have water in it. Have you put gas in it lately?

My 87 samurai wont stay idling it was fine then i changed my fan and alternator belt and now it just doesnt idle

My first hunch is a vacuum hose that got knocked loose. There are many, and the rather short one near the front of the manifold that bends into the tube at the manifold will go bad at the bend. Check 'em all carefully

My '87 samurai sputters badly when i give it throttle.

Try changing the fuel filter. If it is running ok at lower speeds around 50kmh/30mph I would say fuel supply is the problem.
Hope this helps.
