Here's a wiring guide for the fuel pump on a 2000 Cadillac Deville: 1. Remove the fuel tank and access the fuel pump module. 2. so what is there the 96 to 99 full size had a problem with the fuel pump connectors--corrosion causing short or overheating--- so when the pump failed you were advised to cut out and replace the connector with a new design one [flat]

Hope you marked the wire colors, on how the old connector was wired? Was the old connector numbered or lettered?
If you want a wiring diagram, I need year--make--model?

Are the wires on the new fuel pump connector color coded? Can you match up the wire colors? If not color coded, can you go abcd on the wiring connector? Compare one connector to the other.

A $20 service manual should include wiring diagrams which will show you color codes. When you buy a manual, make sure it has diagrams. murf427

hi, if you bought a new fuel pump assembly you are one of many who had problems with the connectors. so your not alone. the fuel pump manufacturers changed the plug configuration to solve a problem with the existing plug, the plug being replaced is the square plug on the left. the new pump assembly came with the new pigtail and you need to cut off the connector(close to the plug so you have enough wire) and ****-connect the new plug onto the trucks wires. the wires will be color coded to match the old wires, they maybe dirty and oily so you will probably have to clean them to tell the difference. also the pump should come with a diagram to help solve the wire problem.
