I push the button to open moon roof and all it does is click.. eventually it opens, but it only open about a half inch, if that, then have a hard time getting it to close again, I have also noticed the backside, that is suppose to be flush with the roof, is starting to drop...
Please tell me it isnt a g6 with the panoramic sunroof. if so, take it to the dealership. if not, you may want to check out the motor. not a fun task. the headliner has to be removed at least partially in almost all cases to even get a glimpse. it could be the motor or something in the track, causing the jam and hard operation.

First check the fuse box, which is near the pedals otherwise you have to take out the button and look for wear/uncleanliness of contacts. Use professional contact cleaner.

Temporary Fix: unsnap off the access door in the overhead ceiling liner behind the sunroof opening;
Use a 4mm hexagon Allen wrench to wind it closed.

This isnt actually a solution but I have the exact same problem. For a while i just cleaned the tracks and pulled it shut. The problem was the pieces the pull it forward again started cracking and eventually broke. Check salvage yards for spare part cuz you dont want to pay over $200 for a whole new kit from the dealership. :(

Crank should be in the trunk right with the jack to jack up the car
