Have tried changing batteries in both car & keyring? tried keyring under the dash & also leaving key in on position for 30mins but I still can't unlock doors & the dash lights won't come on for the car to start. I do have power as the windows lights & stereo all work. Thankyou
Un hook your battery for 15 minutes then retry to start

most likely cause is the gauge cluster, this will have to be tested and service by your local dealership because the dash cluster and keys have to be coded. I have seen the immobilizer loose it's coding for apearantly no reason. therefore have them recode cluster and see if problem goes away, if it doesn't the gauge cluster will have to be replaced.

check fuses for dash lights if you use a12 volt tester turn on runnig lights and check dash lite fuse for power the radio maybe on same curcit/

then you have to diagnose the immo system by scan tool to know which DTC is recorded

using a test light with all doors closed everything in the car off; disconnect your black battery cable then: connect a test light between the battery post you just removed the cable from and the cable you removed; the light should light. this is your short (leak) then remove fuses until you find the fuse that causes the light to go off your problem is in that circuit.
