The sercuity light comes on on my 03 Saturn Vue, then my dash lights flicker on and off, my running day lights flicker as well. Eventually all dash board lights and gauges turn off, including the odometer,rpm, temperature gauge, and fuel gauge. Then my power steering stops working. Sometimes my E-break light will stay on or the high beam light will stay on on the dash even though they are off.
I had the same problem some time ago, lights would go on and off, odometer appeared to stop counting at times rpm gauge would work and then not... power steering would off and on work and head lights would blink on and off when in driving light mode (off position).. The fix for me was I had to have the dash computer replaced (about $500). After doing this around 50k miles ago all the gremlins seem to have remained gone.. Hope this helps
This same thing happened to me. I took it in and the service guys witnessed it but the following day when they went to diagnose/fix it, the problem was gone. they could not replicate. I picked up the car and now the steering is back to normal and I am not experiencing any of the flickering...what is up with all that?

All my lights were blinking and the power steering would not work till it warmed up. I replaced the BCM on my 2006 Vue because most posts on the internet blame the BCM and it still did the same thing.No improvement and I am $500 poorer. On my Vue it was the alternator. I had a new one installed before all these problem started.I did not think it could possibly be the new alternator because the battery was always charged and it started fine. It only happened when the temperature outside was about 60 degrees or below.The new alternator did charge good but there was a problem with the built in voltage regulator when it was cold. I ended up getting another alternator and all is working fine now.

I have an 02 Saturn Vue with similar symptoms. My headlights don't seem to flick, however. My dash board lights turn off and then back on while the security light stays lit for a few seconds and then goes off. It is progressively getting worse.
I am just starting to have this problem. The driving lights are going on and off. I am afraid people are thinking I am flashing them my lights.
My 2003 VUE driving lights started flickering then they would go off all together, so I had to drive with my brights, people don't seem to like that. Saturn replaced the headlights, relay and headlight switch, worked for a short time then started up again.
