The power sterring tilt on my '03 Thunderbird stopped working. I brought it to the Ford Dealership and diagnosed it as an electrical issue and that I would need to replace the sterring column which would cost about $1500 (labor incl.). Has anyone had a issue with their power tilt?
This is an item that may be found in some Salvage yards. I would go to an independent shop for a better price. Remember that you also have airbags in the column and a little experience would help. A Salvager could find the same color. If you forgo a power tilt and convert to a manual tilt, it would be cheaper. Your car is 14 years old and there should be some in Salvage yards.

You'll need to raise the engine to replace the oil pan. Take the trans./converter loose, remove the engine mounts, wiring, fuel line, and anything else that could be a problem with raising the engine. You can use 2 6 x 6's and place under the engine mounts and rest the engine on these. This should provide you with room to drop the pan.

SOURCE: cost to replace starter & flywheel on a 2003
for the starter and flywheel 1400 sounds right they would have to take the tranny out to get to the fly wheel but why do they need to replace the fly wheel did your old starter do a lot of grinding its not to often you have to replace a flywheel unless the starter wrecked it somehow again not to often starters are ment to break before it wrecks the flywheel the flywheel made of harder metel i would get a second opinion on replacing the flywheel

advance auto parts total price for all bearing, front and rear and seals come to $70.00. labor should be about that much(plus cost of grease) good luck
i am a tech at a ford dealership. it sounds like you have a short some wheres around your steering column that maybe what we call "backfeeding" to other systems. the area where the tilt is on the steering column is a good place to check. also remote starters can cause alot of havoc on a vehicle.
