Start by unscrewing all the screws you can find. Then pull the console out, being careful to unplug all the wire harnesses.

It is on the engine where the lower radiator hose connects to the engine block. Remove the hose and the underlying thermostat cover.

Center consoles usually have screws on each side and on back panel holding it in place. Remove the screws and you can lift it up over the transmission lever on floor to gain access..

1. Remove the two oval covers from the sides of the floor console. Remove the four (two on each side) retaining bolts. Lift or remove the front seat center armrest from the floor console.
2. Remove one screw from the top rear end of the floor console (directly under the front seat center armrest.
3. Remove four screws retaining the utility tray beverage holder to floor console. Lift or remove the utility tray beverage holder from the console.
4. Remove two screws (directly under the utility tray beverage holder) retaining the front end of the floor console to the console panel front mounting bracket.
5. Lift the floor console from the front and rear console panel mounting brackets.

Detach the clips (A, B) by pulling the center console box (C) up, and removing it from the center console (D).

1. Remove the screws (A, B) and clips (C), and remove the center console (D).
   

2. Install the console in the reverse order of removal, and note these items

Base Console, Floor, Ranger, Explorer Removal and Installation

when you flip it down look up between the display and the front there are screws in there

Requires the use of a t-50 torx socket & you'll remove four bolts. Viola, the seat is loose & all models will have electrical connections to disconnect.
