I have a 2006 chevy cobalt ss and the several times over the past 3 years I go out to start my car and it will not crank. Pop started it and took it to shop and they found the fuse under hood to starter blown....replaced and was fine for months and same thing happened again. last time the fuse blew ,when I had started the car, the starter was stuck and was still cranking after car was already started. What could be causing this condition????(I'm thinking bad starter)
Could be, but check starter relay in under hood fuse block contacts may be sticking or ign switch

Time for a complete tune up, this time put a distributor cap on too, plugs wires cap rotor, and use quality parts. what you got here is condensation getting under dist. cap most likely because cap has a hairline crack in it.

On top of the cover of the fuses it will tell you what that fuse was for. Odds are whatever it is, is shorting out and will need to be replaced.

Starter solenoid. I don't have the page here but in chiltons a page shows the ignition to fuse to relay to starter and if you look closely it's quite basic. I had same problem with constant fuse blow #8. The solenoid over time wears and sometimes sticks. When it sticks, your system can overload thus burn fuse. I bet you never stalled out while driving, but only when you shut off and start somewhere it's a no go. That's because you're system is already engaged. I had to change starter as solenoid part of it all. I see others suffer this same problem so please share this around. Solenoid can stick for a millisecond.

They have either left a wire to the starter unhooked or they have blown a fuse or fuselink
