We replaced the short block on a 1993 toyota camry V6 with a used short block. We used the fuel injection etc. from the old motor. The old motor would start fine but had a loose rod. The replacement motor will start fine all day long and runs great. Let it set overnight and and it cranks fine (until you run the battery down) but is not getting enough fuel to start. When it was warmer weather it would always start but slower than with the older motor. Now that it is cold weather its taking longer to start. Trying not to burn out the starter. Is there a cold start fuel injector thermal switch that is causing this problem or something else?

Your ignition coil has a hairline crack in it. Replace it. It is under the distributor cap. Common failure.

Possibly a leaking head gasket. Water/antifreeze seeps into the cyllinder when it cools off, and then it won't fire properly until the coolant is blown out the exhaust when you start it. Let it warm up with the rad cap off. If you see bubbles continuously coming up to the filler hole, you have a head gasket problem. Do you have to add coolant monthly, or weekly?
If you're lucky, it could be just a spark plug that doesn't want to do anything until it warms up, or it could be a valve.

There are a couple of things things that could cause this. The first thing i would check is your refrigerant level. Low refrigerant would cause your compressor to turn off. The next thing i would check is a restriction in your A/C lines. A restriction would cause a pressure difference allowing ice to build up in side your A/C lines and not allowing your refrigerant to cycle normally, and of course once the ice melted your a/c will work again.

i'm sure it's not the starter itself that is the problem, have the stater's solenoid checked...it might be stucked. It's quite a lot of work removing the starter but you can do it if you are willing enough to learn. You just need the right idea and tools to do it. Hope this will help save you bucks!

I had the exact same issue with starting in the morning - and this is Florida morning not after a snow clad night. I guess burnt out the starter today. If anyone reading this is having similar issue get it fixed before it becomes $300 expense.
There is a cold start injector and a thermal switch. The cold start injector will be found on the intake manifold. Follow the fuel line to it.
