SOURCE: Hood latch will not open .. I think cable is

If you can get a long nosed pair of needle nosed pliers and reach the cable from grill in front of car, pull cable with pliers it should pop open, same if cable is broken inside car, find cable and pull it

SOURCE: Hood release cable isn't connected to interior hood release lever

Your going to have to use vice grips or pliers. Just pull hard till you hear the hood pop open or have a friend push down on the hood so you can pull in the hood cable easier to unlock the hood latch. Good luck and keep me posted.

SOURCE: where is the fuse box on a 97 pontiac grand prix?

Inside the glove box on the passenger side you will see an opening. Use a light and you will see that it says "pull here", remove the plastic and the fuses are right behind it.

How to open a hood 1993 Buick century cable jam up

Miguel, 1993 Buick century hood cable broke. With a flashlight, you will have to lay under car and reach up where cable runs into latch and pull the latch mechanism/lever to unlatch hood. If not comfortable doing this call a locksmith and they will have it open in seconds. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

How to open the hood on 1994 geo prizm when hood latch cable is broken under the hood

remove the front grill on car!
the latch is there. attack it directly

or find the cable. somehere and yank hard from side?
or cut the cable , then strip it back , unwound
and grab center wire, and pull with vise grips. bam opens. (luck)
if center wire is broken under hood then only grill off is the way.
its just a cable. no magic here.
access only is the question.

Unable to get hood open. I released hood from button inside, but unable to lift hood up. Please advise

first, try smacking the hood at one of the front corners while someone else pulls the release handle. or even after you've pulled on it. if that works, once open, adjust and lubricate the hood latch assembly. if it still won't open, and it's the cable and not the latch you'll have to replace it anyway, so instead of removing the grill, cut the cable behind the pull lever under the dash where you can reach it. then skin the outer cable insulation away from the actual steel cable exposing an inch or two of it. then holding the insulation and plastic housing with pliers, grab the steel cable itself with pliers and pull it to open the hood. then replace the cable. the further you can reach up under the panel the better your chances of getting past the broken part of the cable and avoid removing the grill. you might also be able to gain access from up under the car if you're lucky.
