Either the rod popped off the handle or handle broke.

If its the front door, the lock and the door handle work together to unlock the door..

when you pull the handle out , it actually catches the door lock and in unison, the door will unlock.

until you replace the door handle, pull the lock lever first, hold it out, then pull the door handle. The door will unlock.
it is actually the locking lever that actually unlocks the door.

If this works for you, please send some coin to muzeke429@gmail.com

I am disabled, technically homeless and need money...

thanks....

Driverside door wont lock or open from the inside mkz 2008 lincoln

I hope it's not an electric control handle----but it sounds like a rod or lever inside the door has disconnected----plastic clip holds rod in mechanisms and/or levers that operate the door---you'll have to remove the inside door panel to check this out or take it to a body shop---they may have experience this problem before---also some debris may have jammed mechanism----another thought is the mechanism may have rusted/froze therefore unable to function--GL

My key fob doesn't work on my 2008 Lincoln MKZ. I replaced the battery and reprogrammed the fob nut still won't lock or unlock doors or open trunk

I see what you said and I am assuming you went through the programming sequence in the owners manual if so the battery inside the key fob is loose and you must move out the contacts so the remote goes together tight and the battery contacts stay in contact with the side and the flat part of the battery and that the + is facing the right way
