The Mercedes-Benz dealership has a "B" Service for (Was $450.00) is now $329.95. What is included in this "B" Service? The independent mechanic, worked on MB only for nearly 30 years, I have been using, I just bought this car and he has not seen it, wants to go over the car in what he calls a "B" service. Oil change, air filters, cabin filters, replace the spark plugs, transmission service, pop the valve cover and clean it up, tire rotation, check the brakes, check out the front end, top off all the fluids, test dive and more... His "B" service is $1.300. Are we talking about the same service here?
Did you ask the dealer what is included in there "B" service?
Sounds like one of them Is trying to help you and the other is trying to help them self!

SOURCE: Servicing my Mercedes C200
Gearbox -> Synthetic automatic transmission fluid
Differential -> Either 90W engine oil or 85W90 gear lubricant
Engine oil -> Not really sure of the weather in Uganda but I take it it stays pretty warm all year long, probably 20W-40 or 15W-40 synthetic
Spark plugs -> Well there could be a long debate over that... if you're having engine performance/missing problems i'd try replacing them right away but with any gasoline ignition system i try to replace the plugs about once a year... plug wires about 5 years... regardless of condition. In my case, i don't usually go for expensive "platinum" or whatever kind of plug that costs about 10 times as much and usually don't do much of a difference... I'd rather buy reasonably priced spark plugs and replace them regularly, and get a much better result and more money in my pockets... because even if you did buy the expensive ones you usually end up replacing them at about the same time you would have the cheaper ones, with the same effect
SOURCE: what transmission fluid can I use in my 1993 Mercedes Benz 190E
AF3
DEXRON®-III Automatic Transmission Fluid
BMW: Power steering use AF3; Models with combined power steering,
hydraulic brake booster, self-leveling suspension system use SLF
Mercedes-Benz: Use only manufacturer approved fluid
Look on the back of the bottle of fluid you are looking to buy, if it does not say is is approved by MB, don't use it.

I have a 2002 C240 Mercedes and need to replace the cabin air filter. Problem, I don't know were it is located or how to replace it. Can you help me.
SOURCE: Mercedes-Benz Transmission Fluid question
the transmission on your MB is sealed with no way to check the trans fluid level,(no dipstick provided for) that is why the report says "sealed". MB did this to stop customers from overfilling there transmissions, which can cause severe damage if not done properly at the correct fluid temp, this requires special test scan tools.
