The driver side sliding door opens only 2 inches and stops with the key fob
same with closing
manuelly it works fine
any ideas?
we just had this in last month because the door liocks didnt work
reprogramming issue they said
Could be a partially broken wire in the wiring harness that runs in the door track. the wires are inside what looks like a plastic chain that allows it to move with the door and have seen them partially break not allowing power to flow the whole time
I had both of my doors not working on a 2006 Grand Caravan. One would not move at all when pressing the open button. The drivers side would pop open and then stop after a few inches but only if you pressed the consol button or the remote key button. It would not work at all if you pressed the door button. On the passengers side track the red wire (I assume the power) was cut in half. On the drivers side a white wire (I assume the child safety wire) was cut. I spliced both with a new wire and both doors are working.
It probably thinks your gas cap door is open, it will stop the door travel to prevent body damage. check for proper fuel door operation.

When button is pressed to open door it opens only a couple inches then stops. I had this on the drivers side a few months ago, and then suddenly it stopped opening at all, unless I manually oepn it. Now I have the same thing starting on the passenger side, just open a few inche automatically.
I have the same problem!!! Im taking it in next Saturday to look at it, Now the door doesn't even open the 2 inches any more.. when you push the button on the key or the consule it just makes the noise like the door is locking.. Soo irratating!
how much did it cost to get your door repaired?
