I have the same exact issue. In when shifter is in overdrive position it makes a whirring noise that sounds like a bad auto transmission. Also the Gas mileage at 65 has dropped about 6 MPG. I found yesterday that if i put the shifter in 3 instead of OD it doesn't make the noise. I am guessing that i will need to enlist a transmission specialist to fix the overdrive thing but in the meantime it doesn't sound like it is causing an issue in 3 and the gas mileage is improved...

The red circle means there is an intermittent problem with your vehicle security. If your car starts and runs fine it would be hard to diagnose until it wont start at all.

Loud Vibration / Sound Under Acceleration And Starting Engine.

Get the engine mounts checked. A bad mount may allow part of the engine to lie on a body or frame part, allowing engine vibrations to become very loud. Torquing of the engine (under load) can cause the same type problems.

I have a 2003 Dodge Neon SXT. We just had the oil changed and now it makes an intermittent chirping noise when underway. It did this once before after an oil change, but the noise eventually went away. ...

Odds are it could be your engine belts slipping. If it is only intermittent then it is really nothing to worry about, but it is slightly annoying. Make sure your belts have enough tension, if not tighten them. If so, you may pick up a can of belt dressing at an auto parts store an follow the directions on it. Basically you spray it on the belt to quiet the chirp.

I HAVE A 2005 DODGE NEON IT SHAKES WHEN IDLE AND WHEN I EXCELLARATE IT MAKES LOUD NOISES.

Is the CEL on? I am a Dodge Technician and I could probably solve your problem with a little more information. from your description it appears to be a misfire issue, improper valve timing would cause it to "pop" through intake under acceleration. I have seen timing belts jump a tooth, burnt valves or it could be as simple as a basic tune-up
